door panel pinching my speakers?
Just installed some JBL 6.5" components in my front doors yesterday. When I went to put the door panel back on, the panel would not fully snap in around the speakers because it felt like the speaker opening in the door panel was resting on the top of the sosche speaker adaptor.
Has anyone else experienced this before? The speakers sound okay, maybe a little muffled... but am I going to take my door off again only to find my speaker surrounds all torn up?
FYI: crutchfield said they would fit, but I don't trust them after their instructions to remove the front door panels was absolutely wrong.

There is a plastic ring that is on the inside of the door panel around the spekaer opening that fits right around the stock speakers in our civics when installed. Your JBL speakers are probably a little bigger, so this ring is hitting the speaker rim and preventing the door panel from fitting flush with the door. Basically, I used a blade and I trimed this plastic trim off to make the speaker opening bigger for larger speakers to fit in.

I had to dremel of that plastic speaker ring to get my speakers to fit (amoung other things
). It will take it off like a hot knife through butter with a dremel, but be careful of going through the door.

actually, just take some pliers and rip it off. that way you don't have to worry about scratching up your door. maybe use the dremel at the end to clean it up, but i used pliers all the way and it took 2 minutes.
