My boyfriend's been talking about turning his car horn into an air horn. Well, his birthday is coming up and I was thinking of getting him the airhorn for his early-2000s Civic, but I am not very educated with cars. Can anyone tell me what I would need? Is there, like, a kit or something? Would he need an air compressor for it? And my budget is rather small (like, less than $100) so is this something I would need to wait and get more money for? Please and thank you :-)

Did you google? Ebay? Amazon?
All depends on the setup/style needed. Most smaller setups seem to come with a small pump, some of the bigger ones need a separate air tank.

I personally don't care for the shrill little plastic trumpets or musical tones (Dukes of Hazzard style)....I want sound like a freekin semi or a train!

You can probably find youtube videos of various air horns, see what you like.

I found old semi truck horns and a compressor with small tank at a rummage sale many years ago.

Thank you ☺ like I had stated, I'm not very educated when it comes to cars (just basic car maintenance, nothing in-depth) and I had tried Google and Amazon, but it was a little overwhelming with all the choices, but this is exactly what I was looking for was a nice point in the right direction.
