alarm brain dead?
i just installed my 2-way paging alarm and when plugging the battery back in, nothing stated to work. i plugged the power and ground wires directly into the battery along with the LED indicator light and nothing comes on at all. Im guessing its a defective brain, is there any other ways to check if this thing works? or is it dead?

Re: alarm brain dead?
i plugged all the wires in for the alarm included the door triggers and stuff and nothing came on when i plugged the battery back in. so i plugged the power and ground wire directly to the battery just to see if the unit was getting power, and the light wouldn't turn on.
here is the wiring diagram

what is the minimum i would have to plug in to see if it is still functional?

Re: alarm brain dead?
This one is kind of tough to troubleshoot. To be honest I have no idea but the LED for the alarm may not come on until it's armed. So maybe you have a bad remote and that's the problem. Or maybe the antenna isn't plugged in an all the way, or the cable is backwards. I don't know much about this brand so I can't be too much more specific.
An alarm by itself is really difficult to bench test. You would have to power up the unit, confirm an arm via the LED, and then apply the appropriate signal to whatever door trigger while watching siren output with a meter. But this is just one thing you could do, there are lots of ways to test it on the bench but it's not too easy in general.
Not sure if any of that helps but maybe it will get us to some other more useful solution.
