Brake light on??

i have a 2000 Civic Ex and my brake light turns on even though my e-brake isnt engaged. what is causing this????

The brake light in the cluster is also an indicator of low brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir. This generally means that your brake pads are worn low, though also make sure there is no fluid leak.
