Bigtime DOH!!!

So, after yesterday's brake examination session, I lay awake in bed last night thinking to myself: "Self, where where did you put the anti-theft adapter for the special lugnut on each wheel?"

I know I used it yesterday, but today, it's nowhere to be found. Not in my car, my toolboxes and I'm pretty sure it's not in the gravel outside the garage. If it was left on the wheel when I took 'er out for a post-exam spin, well... it's in a ditch somewhere.

So... anyone have an extra or unused stock adapter for the anti-theft lugnut? I hate to go to my local Acura dealer and see what they're charging for one of those.

Re: Bigtime DOH!!!

Sigh. Of course.

Maybe I'll pick up a set of regular nuts and forgo the "anti-theft" properties.

I really can't believe I lost that thing after 6yrs of keeping it under close watch.

Re: Bigtime DOH!!!

Called my local dealer today. They told me to call McGard with the info off the card that came with the vehicle. They said they could probably find an old set of master keys but would charge me half an hour labour to pull the nuts.

Given that these guys are not getting one more red cent from me and that a new set of lugs from ebay is $20 shipped, I ponied up the $20 McGard wanted for a replacement key. Should have it in a week or so.

Now, I just need to make sure I hang onto this one!
