Carr streering wheel pulls hard to the left or right

When driving after I installed the rims I will suddenly while slowing down or accelerating feel the wheel pull to the left or right. Its not uncontrollable but its weird having to fight that randomly now and then.

Could it be the allignment? Or the wider tire is just more sensative to more bumps and grinds on the road?

Re: Carr streering wheel pulls hard to the left or right

That's a wheel balance issue. Same exact thing happened to me when I got my wheels from wheelsnext.com makes me wonder if they even balanced them before they shipped it out. Geez....

To fix it, you have to take it to a tire shop and have them balance it. Pretty cheap usually, if you have an america's tire near you, you can tell them that you bought the tires through them, and they'll do free balancing for you.... Don't know how much it usually cost to balance... I know that america's tire charges like 15 bucks for mounting AND balancing. whatev.
In then mean time:
If you have directional tires, start with the front driver wheel, switch it with the rear wheel. If it still does it, take the passenger side wheel, switch it with the rear wheel, If it still does it, then that means two out of four of your wheels aren't balanced.

If you don't have directional tires, try to rotate the wheels to the front two wheels are the ones that are balanced.

When a rim is shipped pre-balanced, it loses that balance the moment the tire is installed. The wheelsa all have to be rebalanced to make sure it spins right, because even though the rim is perfectly weighted, the tire isnt.

With my civic, i know it is an alignment issue, because the steering feels way too loose, and i am all over the road @ hwy speeds.
