Valve cover gasket observation
Valve cover gasket observation
I have changed the valve cover gasket on my car multiple times, and each time I purchased a gasket from napa or other store, not oem. The gasket would never stay in the cover's slot during installation. We had to hold it in with fishing line then when it was placed over the head gently slide out the fishing line. Recently I changed the oil pump O ring and purchased a oem valve cover gasket. Guess what... it fit perfectly and did not come out of the slot when installing the cover on the head. Made installation of the valve cover easy!.

Yeah, it’s hard to find aftermarket parts that are better than OEM.
Personally I have had way too many issues with aftermarket things like sensors, belts, alternators, water pumps and switches.
While OEM parts for those items usually cost 3x more, it’s a value compared to re-replacing the same part later.

There are Honda Genuine (OEM) parts sellers on Ebay that have good prices, free shipping and very good return policies. HondaPartsNow is another good source.
