SRS Light
SRS Light
I have an 02 Civic EX Coupe. The SRS light came on recently. I have heard that dealers will fix SRS issues free of charge. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of thing? We took the car to a dealer a few years ago for an SRS recall.

Re: SRS Light
False. Oh boy is that false. Wow.
Unrelated issue. Not relevant unless someone forgot to reconnect the airbag wire during the recall. If that was the case, that should have been obvious long before now, right?
You need to figure out what fault code is stored in the SRS system first, then proceed accordingly....
I think there is a DIY on airbag codes here somewhere, search for it. May be a sticky?
The only way a dealer MIGHT do anything for free--- is if it stored a code related to one of the front seat belt buckles. (Do not erase if you have a buckle code, dealer will need to verify it.)
Some dealers may cover that under the lifetime seat belt warranty. Not all will do it though, because technically it is electrical and therefore not a covered failure (AFAIK) as defined in the warranty guide.
(If the buckle absolutely will not latch to the belt, that is a warrantable issue and any dealer should happily cover it under the warranty.)
