04 stock headlights blow
I recently bought my new Civic. 2004 lx sedan with 16000mi for 9200 clean title.. Im stoked. But the stock headlights blow. They dont go very far and my eyes look beyond the light. Are there any cheap solutions w/o going to expensive solutions. Im a college student with a super tight budget. Any bulbs under 50 that are legit?

Heard good things about the Philips XP +80's from gearbox's comparison to stock in a 7thgen.

the stock lights are actually pretty decent and way better than older civics. there may be some reasons for this tho. do you have any pics of the lights shining on a wall from 25 ft away? they could be aimed too low, and also the lenses could be cloudy from UV sun damage. if these are not problems, try the philips xp bulbs.

Re: 04 stock headlights blow
look for a gear in the back of the light that you can get to with a philips/star screwdriver from the top. this is an 01-03 headlamp but you are looking for something similar. then you park 25 ft from a white wall and do one side at a time so they are level and aimed properly (law says the left side of each headlight beam should have a 2 inch drop). meaning, when you measure the distance from the ground to the center of the headlamp, then go to the wall and measure the same distance up, the left headlight beam should be two inches lower than what you measured. basically so the headlight beam has a downward slope. if they are straight parallel, you will blind everyone. you have to experiment with the gear and see which way turns it up or down.
