Rear seat question

Ok question for you guys. My son when he was little has spilled all sorts of juice and other crap all over the back seat. It's the tan interior so it really shows. Now that he's older and not so accident prone im going to try and fix it. To buy a whole new back seat looks like it's going to be pretty expensive. So i was wondering does anybody know, or has tried, can i remove the cloth from the foam cushion and try to wash it? I dont know if it is stapled, glued on or what. I dont want to get seat covers because i dont like the looks. So what do you guys think? Can this be done or is this going to be a bad idea i will regret. Thanks for any help or advice.

Re: Rear seat question

Try steam cleaning them. There are car washes with shampooers / steam cleaners. Or you can have them professionally cleaned by mobile detailers. If you own a steam cleaner with a hose attachment, I'd try that route. You can pre-treat the stains first with some of the heavy duty "rug doctor formulas", or you can try some of the typical laundry treatments like Oxy Clean, Spray and Wash, Shout, etc. I wouldn't recommend taking them off and throwing them in the laundry.

Re: Rear seat question

yeah steam cleaning. a detail place can prolly clean it up pretty cheap. there might be some stuff soaked into the foam underneath, but it will look clean on the outside at least. one guy here threw his whole cushion in a swimming pool.

Re: Rear seat question

Nice. Well we do have a steam cleaner for the house but it doesnt have any kind of attachments. Maybe i'll take it out of the car and bring it in and run over it with what i have. LOL!
