If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: 94 dashboard
You had BETTER swap the VIN tag if you swap the dashboard!
There's a heap-o-hassles at the DMV and he Secretary Of State offices (and maybe more) if you don't have the correct VIN tag!
Trust me on this!
Call your local DMV and ask if you can just swap the tag onto a new dashboard yourself, or do you need to have it officially attached and documented by one of their people?
I'd just drill out the rivets (don't damage the tag) and pop rivet the tag back into the new board. If the original rivets were flat black, paint them flat black.
I always did it this way with no issues----- except for one.....
I completely forgot to swap the tag on one car that got a brand new dash and MAN that owner had a hard time at the DMV a while later when someone official actually had to check the car for some reason. That car now has a state issued VIN tag riveted into the door jamb.
YMMV
