Cold Night
Cold Night
So before anyone throws out a thermostat theory let me say now that theres no issue there or any coolant loss and no heating issues.
On my drive home from the North Shore(minnesota) last night I noticed that between Lutsen and Duluth, about 100 miles, my engine temp was at about 1/4 on the gauge and not the typical just shy of half up spot. It stayed there roughly till I got to Duluth. The difference between the first half and second half of my drive was that I was only going 55mph and later got up to 80, as well the drive on lake superior was windy as hell and pretty cold.
My hunch is just that between the minimal speed, wind, and my not accelerating because I was going downhill a lot. That the engine just didnt heat up. My question is has anyone else seen a lower engine temp with the colder weather before?. I have no engine problems but it made me curious because even my hand on the engine it was terribly hot.

Re: Cold Night
I dont know how it ties into temp but i know most cars will run better with cooler air...Usually running cooler means the thermo is stuck open but since you said its not that then i would say you are ok.
