uhn...
if this was on a PM or such, i would just leave that as is...
But since you posted it here, so the whole world can read your opinions, well, i am forced by the situation to reply... (for the reputation of the forum)
95 taurus wagon tranny blown - not running
98 s-10 daily driver (running - no idea in what conditions, so in all fairness, will not comment here)
integra blown engine being swapped - not running - being fair, this is too new to comment on
civic just sold - never did run as it was supposed to, turbo died first day - fixed, but never got ECU remapped
So, no, not sure what your sense of maintenance is. For me, maintenance is to keep the car at its peak functionning form accordingly to the age, mileage of the car. I keep records of every single bolt changed across the time, including old interventions for each of my cars, and despite some time down due to broken parts, all of the cars where in running conditions.
Sorry, had to be said - many others do read the posts, and since you made this public, it needed to be said. so don't take this personally, was not directed at you (don't think i would change your mind anyway), but for the sake of any newbie that reads this.

not quite sure what your getting at? my civic always ran the whole time... only thing that was wrong with the turbo was the exhaust was leaking before the turbo...

Re: 89 civic engine swap
Thats not a great deal man, I could get that deal anytime depending on the quality of the parts. Not to mention that you would probably be spending $200 each way for shipping and 20% duty. Your build isn't that special, no offense, 400hp honda motors have been done many times and you should be able to find a local guy that can help you out. If not then I could recommend multiple people in Vancouver that could build a motor for you.

Re: 89 civic engine swap
well, i was not planning on replying, as noted before, but guess i will have to...
response was because you stated maintaining 5 cars is easy...
well mainteined cars are not easy.
You jump from car to car also, so can't really say that you are keeping a car well maintained either, so easy for you to say.
And since many of yours are not running, can't call that well maintained.
naturally, in all fairness you bought them that way, so they might not count.
But no, i do not agree that it is easy.
