Exclamation throttle lever/cable? problems!!!

i have a USDM GSR SWAP. sometimes when your driving and hitting the gas, when you let off, the throttle lever gets stuck and stays at 2000 rpms. you have to just tap the gas pedal and it will be fine and go back to normal idle. anyone know why this is happening and wut i can do to fix this? thanks

Work the pedal by hand and see if the return spring on the pedal is working properly. Then check the cable itself and see if it's catching anywhere or needs to be lubed.

Re: throttle lever/cable? problems!!!

My car did something like that, except that the throttle response was delayed. My problem turned out to be an out of spec throttle cable. If that's the case, it's a 5 minute fix....if that. If the cable needs grease, I think white lithium might work well.

Re: throttle lever/cable? problems!!!

Sounds like the cable. I wouldn't use that white lithium grease, that stuff is crap. I would get a new cable and lube it up well just to be sure. But lubing it will probably fix it. You can also get a stronger return spring. And make sure its not catching on anything. It may have been routed badly during the swap, with harsh angles that are causing friction.

Could be the throttle body also, but not likely. It wouldn't hurt to clean it out and inspect it though.
