Weak acceleration, strong odor.
Weak acceleration, strong odor.
I have a 95 Honda Civic DX, and I recently had to do a headgasket job on it. I still have yet to check my timing on it, which is definitely a suspect at this point. My engine has accelerates very roughly and I'm getting quite a bit of valve chatter.
I had to do a headgasket job prior to this one, and after that, there was a strong sulfuric smell to my exhaust, which would point to coolant perhaps pouring out and getting into my catalytic converter. After this most recent job, the smell has become stronger, and smells more of gasoline fumes than sulfur. I am also smelling a hint of coolant as well. But when I open up the hood after a trip, I don't see any visible leaks or steam coming from anywhere.
So besides the timing and catalytic converter, is there anything else I should look for that would point to the coolant smell?
