I thought this 1980 Civic was just about done, but yet another issue has come up. This time it's the fuel pump; this car has an external one mounted beside the fuel tank, and mine is making far too much noise. It's a sort of knocking noise, loud enough to be very annoying inside the car, and even enough that I can feel the vibration on the chassis nearby. Something isn't right. I suspect the pump is on the verge of failure, even if not I still have to do something because the noise is unacceptable. Is there any way to rebuild it, and if not, can I improvise by using something from another vehicle?
