92 Civic Shaky Steering
92 Civic Shaky Steering
A couple of days ago, my 92 Civic started to 'shake' while I am driving at low speeds. If I take my hands off the wheel, I can see it wobble left and right very slightly. This goes away when I increase speed and drives completely fine once I am at higher speeds (30+). Will an alignment take care of this? What could have caused it to happen suddenly?
more than likely it's the alignment... but sometime hitting a good size rock in the road can put bumps in your tires and could be the reason for the shaking at low speeds you feel the bumps more etc. check the tires and if not go in for the alignment better safe than sorry...
^^^ agreed, an align, ment should e done like every 6-12 months depending ont he road type you drive on, in centex where i am at the roads have a lot of bumps in them causing me to need an alignment like every 6-8 months , back in north carolina where i am originally from it is required maybe once every year. i know your car sitting a while would put bumps in your tires also, i am battling that problem since my car sat for a year while i was away at war. id have an alignement done and the tires balanced and rotated just to see if this solves the problem, and then write back if the problem doesnt go away
well i do an alignment every time i buy new tires... and that's about every 6 months... hahaha i need a new suspension... it's running my tires thin... '86 honda's are hard to find performance springs and shocks for...
