need injector help on motor swap

Hi all, new to forum.
I recently replaced a D16Y8 motor from a 1996 into a 2000 ex. car runs fine but seems like it takes forever to rev up. Seems very under powered. I was wondering if they run different injectors. I have old manifold from original 2000 motor. Can I just swap injectors?
The only CEL I have is the P1457 i'm chasing down.

Car seems like a real turd power wise.

thanks
Jim

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: need injector help on motor swap

Assuming the 1996 and 2000 were both D16Y8 VTEC....the parts catalog shows different part numbers for the fuel injectors --- but I have no specs for flow rate. Swap them and see what happens?

Check cam timing?

Re: need injector help on motor swap

What happened to the old engine?

Was there a lot of misfiring when it died? Misfires and dumping unburned fuel can kill a cat quick.
