check engline light on and sometimes off
i have a 98 civic lx... mostly the check engine light is FLASHING and sometimes SOLID and also sometimes but rarely OFF... driving me crazy. please help i need this light off.

Prob not the most helpful answer, but get a code reader and find out what code it's throwing. Can't really fix the problem if you don't know what's wrong.

Flashing CEL is a misfire that is bad enough to damage the cat.
