Talking 99 ek hatch... swap help...

Okay... I live in chicag...well half an hour away... I have a 99 ek with a stock d16y7...i wanna swap it out for a gsr...like a b18... I love hondas but i dont have any connects nor know much about the whole engine swapping deal...so if someone can help me and tell me how much am i looking at money wise and exactly what ill need and step by step on how tp do the swap...my dad is a mechanic but hes never done a honda swap howevwr he knows how to install engines but im just not sure if its the same proceduee or what....

Please help!!!

dropping the motor is like any other FWD car, wiring will be a little harder mainly two options get the harness that belongs with the motor and replace the whole engine harness with the One from the motor, or splice and re wire sensors.

Cost wise its hard to say due to the fact prices vary, North of you in Toronto, to buy a GSR with an LSD you will be looking to spend 2000 - 3500 depending on the seller and its private or from an import shop.

There are tones of DIY's online for motor swaps just have to search.

The forums here had a great DIY on a b swap. And it all depends on where you buy the parts. Can use Craigslist, order online, junk yard. If you are like me I prefer more Craigslist because you can haggle the price down lol. Thank Sin for O.B.O lol

eric the car guy has a lot of very good informational videos on his channel. and he is a certified honda master technician.
