starter solenoid help

i have a 97 civic with a b16a2 in it and i have a bad starter solenoid because sometimes i have to pop the clutch to start it and sometimes it starts without popping the clutch. i was just wondering can i use another starter solenoid from another car and if so what cars and what years because i cant find any parts anywhere except the dealership but its expensive as hell there please tell me

Re: starter solenoid help

Civic w/swap or Del Sol? Either way I believe any B series will work as long as you trade a manual for a manual or automatic for automatic. Obviously an automatic tranny has a different starter than a manual tranny.
