exhaust swap cel possible fix let me know what you think

hi everyone im jeremy new here 96 lx 4dr 5sp. i had the usual cracked manifold so i went with ebay header back system $175 with all 6 pcs. i noticed the crack when my cel came on and i went to replace the primary o2. i accually didnt replace it what i did just to see if it would work was put my secondary in place of the primary witch took the primary code away and left me with only a secondary code. since my test pipe has the bung on the bottom to correctly fit i cant really put the o2 sensor there cuz its pointing to the ground so what i did was just got a sensor from the junk yard plug it into the harness cleared the code from ecu and just left it hang. i did tie it up with zip ties so it didnt bang around or drag. i have only put about 10 miles on it so far but the cel is staying off and im not getting any codes. am i doing any harm by running with it setup the way i have it now. and do you think the light will stay off. ill keep everyone posted on what happens with the cel i hope this works out ok i need emisions this month and am on a budget and really cant afford anything else right now let me know what you think im open to all opinions and everyones thoughts thanks jeremy
