Dummy Lights & Signal indicators

I purchased a 99 Honda Civic DX Coupe this past weekend. I noticed something yesterday that kind of annoys me. It's strictly cosmetic, but irritating nonetheless. The color tint over the SRS, BRAKE, SEATBELT and turn signal lights are all cracked and faded. Can these be replaced? See pictures.

Re: Dummy Lights & Signal indicators

The simplest solution would be just getting a new cluster and swapping it in, I'm pretty sure those are actually painted onto the cluster.

Re: Dummy Lights & Signal indicators

I think they look cool, you would likely need a different cluster.

Swapping cluster is definitely not on the top of my list. They still work. Maybe I'll find an EX cluster.

Thanks.

Re: Dummy Lights & Signal indicators

Does your cluster sport an LCD odometer ?? The mileage may/may not be stored in the cluster ??

Is the EX cluster swap 100% plug and play ??

From what I've read, it's 100% plug and play on the 99. It is not an LCD odometer. I see that may pose a problem if the mileage isn't pretty close?

Re: Dummy Lights & Signal indicators

Keep your old cluster and write down the starting mileage for the new one.

Re: Dummy Lights & Signal indicators

That would really **** me off, too. Keep the original cluster around just in case. I would even go further and store the cluster information on a web document just in case you lose the paper or the cluster.

Re: Dummy Lights & Signal indicators

I swapped a cluster out of my 99 civic a few months ago. It's easy.

...but a cheaper fix might be just to take it apart and use a sharpie or something to balance out the colour.

or maybe just find another platter (bottom left).

I dunno just some suggestions.

BTW - you can pop the speedo/odo out of the original cluster by undoing 4 screws on the back

Re: Dummy Lights & Signal indicators

Try the sharpie if you want. If it doesn't work PM me and I can get ya a used platter for super cheap at Pick-and-Pull. I saw a barely picked over '99 this weekend.
