Need help with my speedo.
Need help with my speedo.
Wassup guys, been a while since I posted. I have been trying to get my speedometer and odometer to work. When I got the car it was 15 mph lower than actual speed (was working when I got the car). It then stopped working. I have changed the VSS, and got another cluster. I have the tach but the 2nd cluster got was a dx model (no tach). I swapped speedos and tried it but it didn't work. The code being thrown is 500 (circuit malfunction for VSS). I did some tests in the service manual, I had 12.44v between black and black and yellow I believe, I had 1.46v between another, I tried turning the wheel with the volt meter grounded and other probe on the blue and white wire (cluster end) but did not get the pulsing 5 volts, I'm starting to think I was supposed to put the positive probe on the sensor bkue and white wire and ground the negative probe. I have continuity on ground wire, and I checked for a short on the blue and white wire (sensor to cluster) and it checked out fine. I did the service bulletin from Honda and removed the intake mani bracket and taped the harness behind it and inspected for breaks, didn't see it. Put wire protector on the harness then I re installed the bracket. I checked the fuses, and also filed and sanded the speed sensors plug to ensure a good connection. K don't know where else to check. And help would greatly be appreciated, I also tried the new cluster with the new speedo but to no avail. Looking toward to see what y'all got for me. Thanks in advanced.
