Keyless remote operation
Keyless remote operation
OK so here's the deal, I installed an aftermarket cd player in the lower console where the factory satelite mount cd player was located. By doing this I was able to leave the factory head unit in the dash for a stock look. For the past year I haven't had use of my keyless entry, so I decide to wire power only back to the factory head unit, while keeping my aftermarket cd player and amps. Well, I got it wired back up and everything is working except my remote will not lock my doors, it will unlock them and set off the horn when I push the panic button, but the lock isn't. With the unlock and panic working, is the problem in my remote since the lock is the only one not working? Help, I want my keyless back!!!!!

Re: Keyless remote operation
There would have likely been inputs that would let the unit know that the doors are not open (an open door should prevent lock operation) I know that the dome is also through the audio system as well on the 6th gens.
Re: Keyless remote operation
Yeah you are right about the door open sensor, but I have both the green plugs plugged into the factory head unit and the power, the only thing not hooked up to the head unit is the speaker wires, that is what has me stumped.
