Have you experienced transmission issues with code p0715?

Lots of unfinished threads in regards to transmission issues with code P0715 (mainshaft speed sensor, which was replaced already). Before I go out spending money on a rebuilt I would like to know if others have experienced this type of problems before and what was the end results. I have a 97 Civic with 71k miles that slips in first gear when warm or after driving for more than 10 or 15 miles. Two transmission shops that have looked at the car think it is not internal mechanical issues but electronic related instead (bad circuit or Powertrain module).

Thanks for your responses
