Re: Quick Question

From what I've seen on this site, its usually between Mobil 1 and Valvoline Max Life. I've heard the latter is pretty good, but at a cheaper price. I use the former, but may switch to the other. I guess its a matter of experience and preference though. I used Pennzoil in my Corolla once and it ran like crap.[GOOGLEVIDEO][/GOOGLEVIDEO]

Re: Quick Question

depends on your climate and how you drive. Mobil 1, amsoil, etc are all good oils but if its had natural oils all its life then it may leak with a good synthetic in there since it cleans better than a natural oil. Try mobil 1 and see how it works for you and make sure you get a good filter not that fram junk.

Fram filters are complete garbage. I use hamp filters, they're pretty affordable and most performance shops carry them.

Re: Quick Question

my 97 has a D16Y5 1.6l single cam and i Only use castrol (5/20) mine has 160,000 +/- miles and im having trouble up hills to. i loose power and usually have to downshift. but i think that the motor is just loosing compression due to age and needs a rebuild. i may be wrong but im getting ready to have it totally rebuilt soon. and id bet its gonna be alot better at getting up those hills!

Re: Quick Question

Whatever synthetic blend oil is on sale and I use Wix filters... Don't get suckered into these pure synthetic oils that are double or triple the price of dino oils. They just are not worth it.

Re: Quick Question

Lol. Civics don't like hills in the first place. I switched over to Max Life synthetic blend. Soooooo much cheaper, but the car likes it. Only problem is it took me about 2 hours to find it because there was some massive sale on it .
