Re: Headers and Cams?

Best one out there and not to much money are polar opposites.

Quality = Expensive.
Cheap = Garbage.

Are you modifying any other part of the exhaust?

Re: Headers and Cams?

Okay, while a 4-1 exhaust and a 4-2-1 exhaust each have certain advantages, but results hinge on your other components. A decent header through low end pipes for example will do nothing, the same with a cheap header through good pipes; a system is only as good as its weakest component.

A 4-1 exhaust is meant more for a race application, where it would be matched with a high duration cam and you would be spending the majority of in a specific power band. Overall it would give more hp, but thats all useless if you only hit 6500rpm during near red lines shifting. 4-1 works very well for a drag car.

A 4-2-1 exhaust does not give results as good as a 4-1, but its designed to handle a longer less aggressive cam profile and gives slightly added hp across the entire power band. 4-2-1 is more appropriate for auto-cross, road racing, DDing.

Re: Headers and Cams?

4-2-1 will give you a little more torque on the lower/mid end, so would be recommendable.
4-1 is a high rev setup, which you don't use much on the streets.
And which engine you have in there? B-series or D-series?
