Normal Spark Plug?

I was just wondering if this is what spark plugs should look like. The electrode is fine but does all of the black soot on the threads mean anything?

Re: Normal Spark Plug?

Thanks! I've suspected a bad oxygen sensor for awhile now so I just ordered one. Hopefully that will fix it.

Is that all that it takes to cure the problem? Replacement of the O2 sensors?

Re: Normal Spark Plug?

It can be. If the oxygen sensors are giving the wrong fuel to air ratio you can burn too rich or lean. They typically only last 100,000 miles. My fuel economy has suffered lately which is also a sign that the O2 sensor should be replaced.

Do you know how much they cost? Or rather know where I can get them for cheap?

They are not that cheap, if you go aftermarket make sure you get one that has the harness plug, not a universal model.

I ordered the Bosch 13249. It's a pretty good one. There are cheaper ones available though. With Amazon you can type in your specific car and it'll tell you which ones will fit.
