Question Convert to 4 Disc wheel???

I have it in mind to convert my 1998 Honda civic EK from a 2 disk wheel rear drum brake to a 4 disk wheel, disks on front and back like fast cars.

What would I need?

Pretty much this ('94-01 Integra). Swapping the entire trailing arm is easier than just changing out hubs for the disc versions. On mine the parking brake cables were a tiny bit shorter than the Civic ones, so it caused my rear pads to drag all the time.

So what your saying is that I can Just go to a scrap yard And get all the backend parts for an integra between 94-01 and it'll just fit? Also does it matter if its 2dr or 4dr?

Re: Convert to 4 Disc wheel???

nah shouldnt matter. my dad has a 4dr integ and i compared my trailing arms to his and they were the same. i had the same problem like cheesefrog. my ebrake cables were a tiny bit short but i didnt put all the cable mounts back on leaving some slack so the rear pads arent making contact all the time

Re: Convert to 4 Disc wheel???

you i used a 96 integra rear disc on my car about 5 years ago. just bought new rubber hoses and e brake cables from the dealer. good to go bolt rite in. and if your civic isn't a ex you will need a new master cylnder because its to small otherwise and you will wanna change the brake proportioning valve. to the si or integra one.

So basically when am done with the switch, when I press brake, all 4 wheels will respond? instead of 2. Or will the rear brakes only work with the hand brake???

Re: Convert to 4 Disc wheel???

Use the e-brake cables from an Si and you won't have the length issues. Also recommended to change the proportioning block to one from a 4-disc equipped vehicle. Just get an Si one, it drops right in

Also, try the search feature conveniently located on your internet browser

I was going to do this until I found out the Si proportioning block had the same part number as the one on my '98 DX hatch. So depending on what car you're swapping the discs to, you might not even need to do the proportioning block.
