hello everyone, this is my first swap. can i put a sir b16a2 in my 96 civic cx hatch automatic? the b16 a is also obd2. oh yes and the b16 tranny is auto, , my friend told me i cant do it because i will not pass for a inspection, and that i might have to cut in to my engine compartment chasis to make the auto tranny fit. then i was told by another guy that has a i think he said 657 horse 96 hatch. i dont know if he`s lying about the horse power but, what ever.he told me to put a ls swap in, my car instead. i dont know what to do. can someone tell me exactly what i need to buy. either swap comes with engine, auto tranny, ecu, and engine wiring harness. i dont have lots of money, i just bought a house in febuary. so if i can fit in the b16, what will i need to make it drive with no engine lights on? im a newb, sorry everyone. what would be a better choice for a engine, im not going to race, maybe once or twice. the b16 a, or the ls swap? just looking for a engine with less miles then my sohc 147, 623miles , and something with more sack when i get on it some. thank you all so much for your time. arthur

im pretty sure the b16 will fit, you shouldnt have to cut anything but all you can do is take a chance and go for it.

hi, thanks for the response. i was told i will need a transmission t bracket from a 99 civic si to bolt in the b16 auto tranny in my 96 civic hatch, and he said i can use my factory motor mounts for the engine. can someone please tell me exactly what i need to install my b16 with auto tranny in my 96 civic cx hatch. im so confused, this is my first ever honda swap, sorry for being so stupid. thanks for your answers and your time
