I just replaced my rotors, brakes and driver side CV axle and have bee driving with no issues for a day or so before hearing a CLUNK? on accel in first(even gentle).. If i drive it around for a bit it will happen again but can't make it happen, so i can't quite put my finger on it..
It was my first time doing the cv myself, not a first for rotors or brakes...

If anyone has any insight, ideas or speculation it would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks

the lugs tight? I just had a friend forget to tighten up a little more after lowering the car and he had the same problem.

Yeah i torqued them to spec... so it's not the lugs.... i have checked and rechecked the brakes, bolts from everything i had to remove and replace(lower control arm,caliper bolts,etc...)still no idea...

You pushed the cv until it clicked in right? You should be able to hear a solid click when it goes in....

yeah, i thought so... but now I'm questioning it. Just haven't worked on the axles before.. i don't know if it's relevant but the boots on my steering rack are ripped as well so i don't know that kind of issues(sounds) that could be contributing..

If you haven't figured it out...I definitely have an idea.

But first, you re-tightened all suspension bolts while under load of the car per the factory service manual correct?

If you did the above: Under hood on the shock towers are two mounting bolts (one front and rear) for the upper control arms. If not tight, make sure the suspension is under load. Then torque those bolts to the specified 40 ft/lbs.

It might have even been the suspension settling? < doubtful though

What do you control arm bushings look like? Does the clunk happen when you hit a small bump?
