Alignment question

I have 97 DX sedan. Everything on my car is stock, nothing is moded. The situation is I'm getting inner wear on my tires, so that means I have negative cambers. I talk to a tech guy, he says I need correction camber kit.. The thing is my car isn't lower or anything, do I really need the correction camber kit or what else can I do?

Re: Alignment question

Excessive toe can also be the culprit. Have it checked at a reliable shop before committing to something you most likely don't need (like a camber kit). If it's stock ride height my bet is the toe is off (and could be because of a tie rod being worn).

Good luck, and let us know what happens.

Re: Alignment question

yea i had some inner wear on my right front tire, come to find out it was the tie rod on that side was worn out pretty bad. i went ahead and changed inner and outer tie rods on both sides and replaced the boots on my steering rack (was already under there so why not) luckily i write service at a dealership so i have great access to smart techs and a nice alignment rack.....riding straight now!

def. sounds like Tie Rods...just did mine on the right side...it shook like crazy around 60 mph...come to find out the right outer tie-rod was beat! $18 for the outer...i forget how much for the inner.

Re: Alignment question

Is this front or back? All four?

I had excessive wear on the inner tread on the rear.. Went on a 3,000 mile trip a few months ago and destroyed the rear tires... Come to find out my rear trailing arm bushings were Shot and it effected the toe quiet a bit. Both had cracked and fell apart. Bought the bushing Xtractor tool and some decent bushings, installed them, and all is well after a four wheel alignment...
