Is it bad to install a breather?

I have a 2000 civic ex.. Is it bad to instal a breather filter from the engine?

that hose needs to be connected to the intake vacuum in order for the PCV system to work properly. the pcv system keeps harmful gases from corroding engine parts. so yes, a breather filter is a bad idea.
