hey guys......ive got a weird problem

I have a 2000 civic 4dr with a weird hezitation when starting out in all gears. In first when the revs are low the motor seems like spudders and lerches until the rpms hit 1500rmp then it stop 100% and runs fine. then shift into secondand it does the same thing.....3rd 4th 5th........same thing. It runs like like a champ above 1500rpm. Its like i hit power band when 1500rpm hits. What could this be TPI? mass air? It has newer plug wires fresh oil change. It has 170kms but i havent changed the timing belt yet. Im stumped!!!!

Great site guys
Thanks in advanced

Re: hey guys......ive got a weird problem

what RPM are you shifting at? Sorry trying to understand whats going on, because if your fine when u hit 1500rpm, your shifting too soon so you have no power. I shift at 2000 on flat, 2500 on a hill, I dont normally drive at any less then 2000 rpm. down hill 1500 is ok because there is no need for power.

oil, leads, spark plugs, timing belt, your old lady, etc has nothing to do with anything in this case.

Re: hey guys......ive got a weird problem

ahh,my first civic didnt have one, but I was driving stick for 4 years by then. Wait abit longer till the engine revs more and then shift. if you are still having problems come back. it doesnt take long to get a feel for the car.

Remember going up hill you need to wait longer.... Good Luck
