Radio in 98 ex question

Im looking to purchase a stock radio so I can have my keyless entry back but on the radios i have seen for the EX they have a space in the back above the plugs. Do i need the peice that goes there or was it extra for they keyless entry ? i have all the wires to wire it in behind the dash just wondering about the radio.

That space is for the alarm add-on. It is NOT necessary to gain the use of the EX keyless entry as this was built into the radio.
