i was thinking of getting the aem cold air intake and putting a bypass valve on
it has anyone tried this or has anyone seen this before
im trying to get details on how good it actually is and where to place the
bypass valve
any suggestions on cold air intakes with out hydro locking the engine??
and please dont tell me to stay out of puddles lol id never drive into one on
purpose

bypass valves do not work unless the whole intake filter is under water. its totally useless is most cases. and over time the foam will get hard and fall off. stick with a short pipe intake.

It really depends on your version of 'puddles'. I've had a CAI on my car for 11 years and I've never had a problem. I also do not drive through flooded roadways. I've been in very heavy downpours in many areas of the country and with good drainage the water never reaches the critical depth of 12-13" where it could be pulled up.
