e-brake help!
e-brake help!
i have a 2000 civic ex.. im having a problem with the e-brake. everytime it is like freezing cold, my e-brake does not go all the way down. when you release it, it goes up almost half way. can anyone help me???
Re: e-brake help!
Yes, most likely one, or both, of your e-brake cables has become rusted inside. Time for a replacement or take them out and inspect both to find which one is the culprit.
Edit: Actually after re-reading, it only happens when it is cold. Therefore you have water in at least one of the e-brake lines and it's freezing. Therefore, find the source of moisture getting into the affected cable, dry it out and seal it back up after spraying in some thin lubricant.

Re: e-brake help!
Inspect lines, clean rust - any, and lube it. Honda's like to freeze up in winter - it's their M.O. Check for moisture like was suggested. You might have to replace the parking brake lines. That's what i had to do with my 96 civic LX.
