Abs

How do civic coupes perform without ABS? I am switching from a truck with 4wheel ABS to a 99 civic ex coupe without (I think) I know it was optional but I dont know if it has it or not. I am worried that since these cars are so light I might run into some problems in wet or just hard braking situations. So I am asking you all how do they do?

Re: Abs

You'll be alright without it. I actually didnt like the abs on my friends 6th gen. I think his was messing up but still. On snow it would activate to early.

Re: Abs

ususlly it takes longer to brake with abs, the only benefit is you can turn the wheel a bit while braking.

Re: Abs

yeah with abs its almost impossible to lock em up. on the civics, abs turns on too soon and gets annoying so youre better off without it. but i think the EX civics all come with abs. easy way to check is when you first turn the car on, look for abs light or sometimes an icon like (!) on the gauge cluster.
