98 Civic LX power window problem

The passengers' side power window will go down, but not up
It is getting power, and I can hear a click ONLY when I try to lower the window (the window is all the way down)

any ideas/suggestions?

thanks

Re: 98 Civic LX power window problem

With the engine off but key on position II... Turn on the dome light and watch it as you try to move the window up. See if and how much it dims the dome light as as you try moving the window. If it dims quite a bit then something may be bound (although you said it would go down) If it does not dim...it could be voltage not reaching the motor.

Re: 98 Civic LX power window problem

From my understanding the window regulators on these cars are pieces of ****, very poorly designed.
I got the regulator replaced at a mom and pop auto repair place for around 70 bucks, including labor

Re: 98 Civic LX power window problem

The regulator died and apparently when it died it also shorted out my switch
So now I'm waiting on a new switch
