New Rims having a problem

i jest put a set of 17" inch Enkei rims on my car and if i have more then 2 people in my car (including myself) it bottoms out a lot and scrapes the inside of the fenders...i was thinking about dropping my car slightly but now i am having concerns about doing this

but then i thought...if i drop the car will the suspension be stiffer? stiff enough to maybe solve this problem?

Re: New Rims having a problem

So you're on stock suspension and you're still scraping?
That's kind of weird ... you could get some shocks that have the stiffness adjustments. Don't know how much that'll help. If you're planning on dropping, you can also get a camber kit to make the tires a little negative. Downside is you'll sacrifice the life of your tires. I have 17" enkei as well and i rarely scrape even with people in my car and i'm dropped about 2". What model/offset are you rims?

Re: New Rims having a problem

Your suspension has got to be wasted! I would agree with everone saying to run stiffer suspension.

Re: New Rims having a problem

if you are at stock ride height and scraping, you dont lower the car lol. get some new shocks would be my guess. if they dont work, you end up pretty much riding on the spring, which can compress quite a bit going over bumps and cause car to bottom out.

Re: New Rims having a problem

I have the same problem with mine, I'm running 18's with 215/40 tires, depending on how old your car is it's probably just shitty shocks, mine are shitty, but I found that if your take anything like a breaker bar or even something that is round and fits in between your tire and fender, you can easily roll your fenders. This eliminated the prob for me big time, but now I got a massive stereo in my trunk and well that don't help, now my tires are tucked, but hey, they don't scrape anymore!!!
