Reverse shift scraping?

Sometimes when I try to shift into reverse and I release the clutch (not completely) I hear a scraping noise and I get no power. I then put it back in neutral and shift it back to reverse and it connects properly. Anyone know why this would happen?

Re: Reverse shift scraping?

Reverse is just not all of the way engaged. No big deal, just disengage the clutch and make sure its fully in reverse gear.

Re: Reverse shift scraping?

Hondas are known to act this way. If you can't get into reverse you hafta do what you just described. Mine does it even with a new clutch.
