HELPPP!!! Need advice For my 99 Si
I have Si rims with 195/55/15 tires. My car is all stock. I want to buy the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S in this size and it costs $250 more than the more popular 195/60/15. What do u guys recommend? How will my car look with 195/60/15, will the wheel well gap decrease and will the car get higher off the ground. My priority is ride comfort, and looks without lowering car.

move up to 205/50/16 and get nitto neogens, much better tire, very sticky, but if u must get the michelins, get the 195/60/15, its the stock size, its cheaper, and 250 is a lot of difference

I have AVID ATs on my wife's CRV. The thing about tires is that if you have 4 good tires in mind and ask for recommendations on them you'll get four different responses. All these tires are pretty good. Remember though that sticky tires wear faster so be sure you'll be ok with that trade-off.

i agree with the Green01civic4d guy, just bought a set of neogens for my konig dtd spec rims for my Si and im pretty impressed for what i paid for em

i had nitto neogens on my 93 civic with negative camber and they lasted alot longer than any other tires i threw on them...i got them at discounttiredirect.com (i believe thats the site..if not just google that and they should come up) i believe they were 65 dollars a tire with free shipping and they showed up in two days.
thats what i would go with good traction, good for rainy days and they last a long time. go with a 205/50/15 if you wanting your car a little lower..you could also go with a 215 and get even more traction. The middle number is the height of your tire off the rim in milimeters so the smaller you go the lower your car will be but the bumpier the ride but also the smaller you go the goofier it looks in my opinion if you dont have your car lowered because youll have more room between the fender well and your tire. If you do decide to lower your car for not that expensive but you want a good ride get tokico blue struts with either skunk2 or eibach lowering coils...very smooth ride

The 99-00 SI stock tire size is P195/55R15. The first # in the tire size is the width in millimeters (bulge of the sidewall to the bulge on the other side not the tread width), the middle # is the aspect ratio (55=sidewall is 55% of the width) R means radial tire and the last # is the rim size. A 205/50R15 is about the same diameter as a 195/55R15. A 195/60R15 will be taller, and will slow down your speedometer and acceleration. A wider tire then stock will improve dry traction, but rain and snow traction will decrease.

Don't forget to consider inflation pressure. According to Discounttire.com:
"A good example would be the findings on a Honda Civic with the stock size 185/65R-14. The recommended air pressure is 28 psi. Plus one size is 195/55R-15 with a recommended air pressure of 32 psi. Plus two size is 205/45R-16 with a recommended air pressure of 36 psi. Note how the air pressure increases with plus sizing to meet the load carrying capacity for the car."
