'97 Dx Headlights "Flicker"
'97 Dx Headlights "Flicker"
When driving at night, the headlights on my Civic dim, and then go back to full strength. They will do this every 5 seconds or so. It seems that it only happens when sitting at a light, or drifting in neutral, not when cruising or accelerating. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: '97 Dx Headlights "Flicker"
Well, I'm just guessing really but...
Check your battery. Make sure it's good and that the cables have a clean tight connection.
Check your alternator. If you have over 180,000 miles it may be time for a rebuild. It could also be the voltage regular (inside the alt). Make sure your connections are sound on the alt and that the belt isn't slipping.
Good Luck.

Re: '97 Dx Headlights "Flicker"
Thanks for the advice... I am planning on taking it in to my school (we have an auto tech class) because they have a battery load tester, so I can see if the battery is still good. I'm not sure how many miles are on it... I'll check tomorrow, but I think its around 90000 if I remember correctly. Maybe i'll check the battery connections tomorrow also.
