What is a good clutch replacement kit?
What is a good clutch replacement kit?
So I have a spare tranny EL 2004 from JY, because mine in my 2001 EL Acura is making noise now on input shaft bearing like when clutch is out and in gear 1-3 and getting louder even in high gear highway speed.
Reason is it is expensive bringing it to the shop and it id better to do-it-myself sooner with my buddy here.
My question is could I buy any aftermarket or OEM replacement clutch kit which the least cheaper but somehow reliably ok, that within this generation 2001-2004, like e.g. EXEDY, MPACT, LUK,VALEO, SACHS etc? idk which are better above I have mentioned I know I heard alot of Exedy for only $150 in Amazon.
Any advice on this would bevawesome.
Thanks in advance!!!

Yep it's the same although VTEC and non VTEC trans have different gearing, but you already have another VTEC trans so you're good. You will need a couple 12 point sockets for the pressure plate and the flywheel, I can find the sizes tomorrow.
When I swapped my trans I did the clutch at the same time in the driveway.

I too used a exedy kit, seems to work very well.
You would do well to replace the engine rear oil seal while you have the tranny out.
Speakig of which, you also should install new axle seals in the tranny.

Ok my question is can I re-use the 12-point socket of 10mm and 17mm again? or bought/install new one?
Thanks alot!

Of course you don’t have to replace the seals, in fact later down the road when it does start leaking you still not need to replace it.
Then as some point when you decide it’s leaking too much, you will be familiar with how to take that transmission out again.
