Will need to get the Vtec ECU reprogrammed/flashed by dealer to work with the old transponder.

Re: 1.7 to 1.7 vtec

it's the immobilizer.

The key have a chip inside, which need to e ECU. Or have the ECU reprogrammed

I think only Dealer could do it?

Edit:

Actually, wrong, see here:

Thanks for listing that. I actually meant to say immobilizer but, I just couldn't recall the terminology when I replied previously.

Re: 1.7 to 1.7 vtec

I assume the ignition/steering column lock set from the same car the PCM and key came out of are not available...?

If you don't have that, you're kinda screwed as far as getting it to run
The only way it will run is to have it programmed, by a dealership, or possibly a well equipped locksmith who has the equipment to do this procedure.

It will program using the keys that fit your steering lock
the immobilizer control unit that is attached to the steering column lock
the new PCM

You can plug in the original PCM and drive it to the place for programming, swap units in the parking lot or something...saves a tow truck fee.

Edit:

Actually, wrong, see here:
OP has replaced his PCM.

Cloning immobilizer keys that already do not work cannot improve the situation

The (new) PCM has to first recognize the (original) immobilizer control unit, and the keys have to match that unit AND work the lock on the steering column.

OP: Take ALL of the keys that fit that lock for programming, else any keys not present for programming will not start the engine.

Re: 1.7 to 1.7 vtec

If the year of the PCM is the same then the front (primary) sensor is basically the same with the exception of possible wire/connector configuration (meaning I didn't actually look)

but the rear O2 sensor wiring for vtec is very different from non vtec as it runs out on the firewall from an engine compartment harnesses instead of the engine harness. Not sure how much else is different.

04-05 used AF sensor in primary location instead of regular O2 sensor.
01-03 use regular O2 sensor.

Re: 1.7 to 1.7 vtec

Is the secondary o2 sensor, downstream, , cause the engine to missfire ? I don't find the cause, other thatn missing the secondary o2 sensor.

thanks in advance

No. Missing downstream sensor will not cause misfire.
