Where in the world is the ac drain hose in the 04 Civic ex???
Where in the world is the ac drain hose in the 04 Civic ex???
Searched all over the web today and can't find any accurate info on where the ac drain hose is on the 04 Civic ex. I've peeled up the floor on the passenger side a dozen times and cannot see any drain hose there. I can't seem to see one anywhere else for that matter and my ac isn't dripping and blowing cold enough (though charged) and I'm guessing there is a clog. Would like to check but
....
Anyone with info and pics would be incredibly helpful!

Open the hood and look on the firewall.
When the AC system is working, humidity from the air condenses on the evaporator core....and the drain tube is intended to route that water to the outside of the car. Most will be at the bottom of the evaporator housing, on the front end, and it goes immediately through a hole in the firewall, then points down so it can drain to the ground.
If it's not humid there may not be much condensation to drain away.
If the evaporator core doesn't get cold because the AC isn't working, humidity won't condense on it, so no water.
Sorry, I didn't find any good pics either.

The A/C condensate drain hose exits under the car on the front passenger side in at the firewall area.
Not sure if it helps but it is #23 in this diagram: http://parts.sonshonda.com/showAssem...ing=evaporator

And here is another photo of my car and the location of the puddle of condensate from the A/C. This is taken at the passenger side front wheel.

Good news is, I don't actually need to try and unclog anything at the moment.
I had filled my AC late last summer after some lack luster AC and after that it never worked quite right.
After a bit more research and deciding not to fully trust the gauge that came with the filling can, I let some pressure out of the high a bit and then a couple bursts of low to get the air out while the car was running, AC cranked to the max. High seemed ok, but low had some air in it it looked like.
After that I let the car run again for a while with AC going full blast and holy crap it's cold again!
What happened before was it was 'cool' but not cold when idling (yet fans working perfectly, etc.)
. When driving fast of course, full AC blast as to be expected from more air across the front. But holy cow, yesterday and today has been over 90 in Massachusetts and I'm glad I got it fixed, because I needed it!

Thank You!
I was finally able to locate mine ('01 Civic) on the inside bottom of the firewall/floorpan. Your picture showed me what to look for, as I was looking for the common straight tube that runs straight down, not the curved one, and not as much towards the center of the vehicle.
