04 05 Acura EL Rear End Conversion

Hi there guys I know that this subject has been brought up but way back in 2002/2003 years. I own a 2001 Honda civic sedan and I felt in love with the Canadian Acura EL and wanted to do some swaps my first one was the complete interior with heated front seats actually I was lucky to get my hands on the complete interior meaning seats, door panels, dash front and back, carpet, console all plastic trims belts etc. Install it through dealer as they had to connect the heated seats as I did have the complete cabin wiring as well. Recently I purchase a 04 05 Acura EL Trunk Lid along with complete tail lights along with tail light gutters, wiring and bumper assembly. All rear end modification is done through professional body shop and is ready for paint. To me it seems to be an easy swap but looks could be deceiving as much as you see the resemblance with civic when you look close you will find big difference. I am excited and looking forward to see my car which she will be ready in few days. Once done I will be posting some pictures. All parts were bought from Acura Dealer in Canada and was shipped to me in USA. I am open if any body else desire this conversion will provide a detail information. Thanks

Yeah it cost me $$$$ but I want it to be done the right way no errors. Thanks to a dealer in Ontario Canada that provided me with parts for a very good price and on top he converted the Canadian dollars to US so the actual price in US dollars was not so bad. Such as the rear bumper everyone quoted me a $458.18 (US $) plus $250 to $300 (US $) shipping this dealer got me with $422(US $) including shipping. Good place to buy parts of Acura EL for your civic.

Well guys finally I got my 2001 civic back from the body shop and the 04 05 Acura EL rear end conversion is complete and came out to be beyond my expectation with brand new tail lights, brand new bumper, brand new emblems make it look completely awesome. The bad thing is its snowing over here in Chicago and is coming really hard so I will be taking photos and posting them over here for you all to see and comment. So look for photos soon. Thanks

Well the rear end parts were easy to get but the problem with the front is the parts especially hood which is only available in Canada besides that I also need the two fenders, headlights, front bumper and the radiator support I am looking for it to see if I could get my hands on. For the time being I love the rear end of 04 05 ELs so I did that. Thanks

Well here you go my friend my 2001 honda civic a very unique kind with recently rear end conversion to 04 05 Acura EL. Every emblem on my car was purchased from Japan to keep the original theme. Also it has HFP body kit original from honda except now for the rear end which is now Acura EL with oem aero lip kit also has 16" HFP alloy wheels, HFP suspension originally bought from honda dealer and installed by them as well which lower the car by half an inch, HFP original chrome sports muffler, rear disc conversion with drill and slotted rotors from R1 Concept, the whole interior is off of 2005 Acura EL with leather interior with heated from seats original installed by dealer. I also do have the Type R K20 motor as well but did went with a swap as I thought too much of a modification wanted to keep the car mechanically as original as it could be. Let me know what you think. Thanks

my civic is equipped with genuine HFP suspension that lower it about half an inch it handles really well plus not only that but I do have a spare set of 04 05 honda civic HFP suspension brand new in a box. I also do have K20 Type R motor complete but I never went with the swap too much of a modification and mechanically I want it genuine.

Well now I am in touch with one of the Acura Dealer in Ontario Canada, but got my hands on complete interior meaning everything from Eugene Oregon in USA. But always prefer genuine and oem parts and accessories. My biggest source is Ebay but before I purchase I do alot of research to make sure it fits before I buy and also prefer brand new but if it is in excellent used condition than that is fine too. For that being said I have purchased quite a few things from Japan also such as all Type R emblems/decals. I also do have a complete 01 05 honda civic parking pole which I bought from Japan as well with all wiring, bracket including switch.

You are right I have seen individuals that sometimes they do not do any research and try to fit a part or an accessory and get stuck. Just reading some post over here and get an idea how some one did something and if it could be done. You won't have any problems than.

If you do let me tell you, you will need the trunk lid, rear bumper rear tail lights both inner and outer, plus you will need the tail light gutters (for the quarter mount tail lights "outer") to properly let those lights fit perfectly, because with the light gutter you will not only mount the lights perfectly but it will accommodate the rear bumper perfectly as well. Good luck with your conversion.
