Title basically says it all. Just wondering if an aftermarket 05 civic grill will fit onto my 05 el

I have one friend with an 05 civic si and one friend with an 03 something but not si

I'll ask the guy with the 03 since the si guy isn't very mechanically inclined.

Neither 03 will work, either.

As far as civics go, 01-03 had the "original" front end, and the 04-05 years had a facelift (different fenders, headlights, bumper, hood, grill, and I think radiator support)

A quick google search shows that there's almost zero aftermarket support for the 1.7el, as far as exterior modifications go. So yeah, if you want a different front grill, it's gotta be custom.

Anything designed for the 01-05 civic's engine will work with your car (since your 1.7el rocks the USDM ex D17A2 engine). I think, but don't quote me on this one, 03-05 civic suspension works, too.

another quick google search tells me my car has a 1.7L L4 SOHC 16-valve engine ? is this the same as the USDM ex D17A2? sorry im still pretty new to all this

p.s. im pretttyyy sure its the same engine as the 05 civic si , they both make 127hp

Canadian Si is the same exact car as the USDM EX.

That said, yes, they both have the D17A2 engine (127HP 1.7L 16-valve SOHC 4-cylinder VTEC engine)

you can swap the acura bumper,fenders,hood,headlights onto the em2 so you would need the civic bumper,fenders,hood,headlights and i believe radiator support.

in other words, a lot of people does the reverse conversion, you would need to do the opposite - from acura to honda conversion...

2005 civic front grille will not fit 2005 acura el as in acura el the front end in the center come to a focal point and in case of Honda civic there is none. Meaning if you see the hood of 05 acura el there is a slight line in the center of the hood where civic don't have it. If you need to convert the front than you will do both fenders, hood, radiator support, head light and bumper either civic to el or el to civic. Hope this help.

which will be impossible to find. I have an '04 EL, and aftermarket support is ZERO. you can barely find any returns on the search because of the "rarity" (for lack of better words) of this car. It was only made for 2 years (our model the 2004-2005) and only in Canada.

Can I ask what you don' like about the stock grill? there are better mods you can do than swap that grill out, its pretty nice stock.
