Re: vtec converting

I hear the trick way to do this... is to get a later-year 8th-gen. Fixes the problem completely.

Seriously, though... the effort to make that DX/LX into an EX, is not worth the time, money, or effort -- the difference in performance is so small... besides they get better mpg than the EXes due to taller gearing.

Unless it was your intention to learn all about 7th-gens and how 'different' they are from the gens before and after... for more DX/LX performance there are plenty of cheaper paths to go.

Re: vtec converting

a head swap could be done, but wiring/ECU or similar controller is required.
engine block differs in compression and oil squirt under pistons, so head swap will not make it completely an EX.

one guy modified his LX head, but it requires a lot of knowledge, far past the inability of even searching the forum for previous threads on this :P
